"Charm is deceitful and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised," (Proverbs 31:30).
The most lasting and most vaulable quality of a woman is inextricably tied to her most lasting and most valuable relationship - to the Lord Jesus Christ. A God-fearing Christian woman is a beautifier and multiplier of every gift and resource she receives and she is instrumental in the development of other young women in the church.
"But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine… Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled," (Titus 2:1, 3-5).
WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY
The women of King's Church are women of the Word - seeking to grow in our knowledge of Scripture and to live in accord with sound doctrine in every area of our lives. We want to embrace and express our unique design and calling as women with humility, gratitude, faith, and joy - yielding control of our lives to Jesus and trusting him completely. That's challenging! But God calls us to hard things - and he's not only given us a Helper (the Holy Spirit), he has gifted us with one another in the church (Ephesians 5:19; Galatians 6:2)!
Here's a refreshing gospel reminder: we're not alone and we're not on our own in our pursuit of godly living.
The women of King's Church gather one evening a week (usually Tuesdays) at "The Cabin" (our future building site on Lake Murray Blvd.) to enjoy a time of fellowship and prayer as we dive into God's Word together and talk about how believing it and doing it affects not just us, but everyone around us. Usually, we will go verse-by-verse through a book of the Bible, but occasionally we will do a topical study. Regardless of where we are in the text, we will always be in the Bible together. All women, younger and older, are welcome to join us!
Our women's bible study generally runs for 10-12 weeks through a particular study or book of the Bible, breaks for a few weeks, and resumes again for another 10-12 week study. Our Women's Bible Study starts Tuesday September 12th from 7pm - 8:30 pm.
LADIES' NIGHT OUT
Sometimes it's good to just get out of the house and enjoy good company! Once a month, the ladies of King's Church will meet at a restaurant to talk and laugh and enjoy being together. Women young and old, single or married are welcome to enjoy this time of fellowship each month.
