More Than a Few Good Men

Remember the Marines' recruiting slogan, "Looking for a few good men"? Jesus is looking for more than just a "few." He wants all men everywhere to believe the gospel, put sin to death in their own lives, and to be strong and courageous grace-filled leaders at home and in their respective callings. And he's enlisted us in his recruiting mission.

MEN'S BIBLE STUDY (CLICK HERE to register now)

6:30 a.m. Friday mornings men get together at "The Cabin" (our future building site at 1686 Lake Murray Blvd.) to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee while we dive into God's Word and talk about how believing it and doing it affects not just us, but everyone around us. Several men have reported how impactful this time together has been - in the way they approach their work, love their wives, raise their children, and above all, honor Christ who called them to walk in a manner worthy of the calling, (Ephesians 4:1).

  • CURRENT 10-WEEK STUDY - BIBLICAL MASCULINITY

God designed men a particular way for a particular purpose. When men operate in the role God has given them, he thrives. Families thrive. Churches thrive. Communities, cities, and entire countries thrive. History has proven where we see mankind not thriving, we see men abdicating their responsibility to be who God has called them to be.

We just began this 10-week study on Biblical masculinity  Sept. 8th and we're inviting you to join now and commit to being there Friday mornings at 6:30 a.m. from now until November 17.

Space is limited so be sure to CLICK HERE to claim your spot

truth is, Jesus calls men to hard things... and men can't do it alone.

"Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another," (Proverbs 27:17). At King's Church, we want our men to grow deep roots in the truth of God's Word. Certainly for their own benefit but for the benefit of others. That doesn't happen on accident and it doesn't happen alone.

"But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine. Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness… Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled. Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us," (Titus 2:1-2, 6-8).

MEN'S GATHERINGS

Sometimes it's just good to get the fella's together and have a good time. Sometimes it's an outdoor shooting range, bowling, axe-throwing, a Men's Breakfast at someone's house, or just hanging out around a fire and sharing some laughs.

These gatherings happen frequently enough so if something gets planned on a day you can't make it, you can be sure to be invited to the next one.

SUNDAY PRAYER

Men gather together right before the service on Sunday to pray for the service, the sermon to be preached, and for the souls of everyone in attendance that day.

You're invited to join the men of King's Church before the service this Sunday - lifting our voices together and calling on our gracious and all-powerful God to bless the work of our hands and to receive it all for his glory.
